Terrazzo Hard Floor Cleaning And Sealing In Nuneaton Warwickshire!
Your Local Terrazzo Cleaning And Polishing Experts In Nuneaton Warwickshire, received a call about a recently discovered Terrazzo floor that our client found underneath their old beloved carpets whilst renovating their beautiful house. They wanted us to restore the old terrazzo floor and bring it back to life because as you can see from the photo below it was full of carpet glues and building dust from all the renovating work that had been going on! Nuneaton Warwickshire Terrazzo Floor Cleaning And Polishing:
We started the job off by removing the grippers around the edges with a hammer and a scraper, after they had all been removed we needed to deal with all the harsh excess carpet glues that were on the beautiful Terrazzo hard floor so we applied a very strong burning glue stripper all over the floor to remove all the glues. After we had left the stripper on there for a short while we scrubbed all the glue of using wire brushes and did a thorough rinse to make sure there was no excess stripper left on the floor. Then we began to apply a high alkaline to do a thorough quick clean before we polished the terrazzo floor up! We left the alkaline solution to soak in then scrubbed the floor using a flat abrasive pad to remove all the remaining dirt that was left over, we then rinsed thoroughly again ready for the floor to be grinded and polished. Now after that it was time to grind the floor and polish it up, the way we do this is by using a rotary with attaching a 5 diamond pad system starting with 200 grit which is a hone/matt finish and the 5th pad going up to 8000 grit which is a high shine. After we had finished polishing and rinsing the Terrazzo floor we then dried it out using our wet pick up machine and left it for a couple of days to dry out thoroughly.

A few days later we returned back to the property and tested the floor with a moisture meter to see if it was fully dry which it was! The reason why it has to be fully dry it because the sealant will not bond to the Terrazzo stone floor if it is still wet. We then applied the impregnated sealant onto the terrazzo, normally for a polished floor you only need one saturation due to the porosity of the floor being closed up from the high grit sheen, but in this case we put two saturations so the floor will be like almost bullet proof not allowing anything to sink into the hard floor.
